The part that just kills me every time is the doctor putting his hand on the back of Wilson's neck. The kindness of that gesture makes the revelation hit twice as hard.
And Tooey saying he has no wife, no kids, just a job. So like Wilson in "Babies and Bathwater," when he's just sacrificed everything for House. Oh, that hurts.
(Chapter Two is one of those that makes me go "Eeeps!" and read bits through my fingers, but those keep the story going and underscore the horror of this place. One of the things I loved about this series in progress is the terrific pacing. You knew just when to back off and not overload the reader.)
