Thanks y'all!
A couple of months ago we looked at our busy schedules and wondered how we could possibly balance the demands of RL and hosting Camp Sick!Wilson this summer, and debated whether or not to even offer to do it. Then we remembered the advice of a very wise oncologist, "Get help!"
Well, we did, and you exceeded our wildest expectations. Some of you volunteered to be camp counselors, others became unofficial cheerleaders and hostesses, and everyone offered a helping hand whenever it was needed. We often refer to ourselves as your humble mod staff, but we have been truly humbled by your creativity, enthusiasm, and esprit de corps these past few weeks.
We hope you've had as much fun as we have, made lots of new friends, and will keep in touch with each other long after camp is over. We also hope you've enjoyed trying some new things and/or rediscovering some old ones in such a wonderfully supportive environment, and will take home many happy memories.
But the fun doesn't have to end just because camp is officially over.
sick_wilson is open 24/7 all year round. So you're always welcome to post your own challenges, fics, or anything else you would have submitted for Camp Sick!Wilson.
Thanks to our camp counselors who did an awesome job of posting activities and inspiring so much sick!Wilsony goodness:
3rdgal12,
almightyspaz, and a special shout-out to
slytherin_girl and
yarroway, who went above and beyond the call of duty and worked an extra shift to make sure Wilson stayed in the infirmary.
Thanks to my fellow mods for all their help:
srsly_yes,
lovemywilson,
blackmare_9, and
xgraciela.
And last, but certainly not least, thanks to everyone who participated in this year's camp and made it such an enjoyable experience. You guys totally rock!

And just out of curiosity, when did you stumble upon our little nook of the LJ universe?

If you haven't already, you might want to check out some of the stuff linked in the sidebar. We currently have nearly 900 fics and drabbles archived, as well as screencaps, fanvids, podcasts, plot bunnies, reference materials, and all sorts of goodies.
There's even a fic challenge that will run through the end of the year, which we'll promote again when people have had a chance to recover a bit from Camp Sick!Wilson. Besides, Wilson could probably use a break, too. Preferably a broken arm, a broken leg... ;)

And be not afraid. There will be plenty of other opportunities to inflict a little woe upon our favorite oncologist. *grins evilly*

Unfortunatley RL messed up the last week and a half of camp when my kitty Roxie (see av) was diagnosed with renal failure. The vet gave her anywhere from a week to two years to live. Today is two weeks since the diagnosis and she's still with us. And boy have I learned a lot about kidneys and how to give sub-q fluids and everything else under the sun.
Anyway, now that RL has calmed down a bit and Roxie's in much better shape, I'm eager to get caught up on everything I missed. I know it's be late, but if it's okay I'd still like to go do some of those challenges. Not for badges of course, but for the spirit of Camp Sick!Wilson. :)

Hopefully our little scrapbook will help you get caught up. And of course it's perfectly okay to do some of those challenges just for fun! Even though Camp Sick!Wilson is officially over, it's still summer. And if RL thwarts your fangirlish plans and it's awhile before you can get to it, well, it'll be summer somewhere else soon. ;)
