Referred Pain Chapter One

Title: Referred Pain Chapter One: The Whole Tooth
Summary: 3 drabbles in which Wilson has a toothache and thinks it's a cavity but it's actually an early sign that he's having a heart attack.
A/N and Warnings: AU, takes place during season 6 between the end of "Wilson" and the end of "Lockdown."  Some OOC but I think it's pretty close, I don't think this one is slash but it could be, obviously I don't know a ton about medicine but I remember they did the exact same thing on Fraiser once.  (For the Dental Prompt)
Rating: I’d say G for now.  No swears, violence, sex, or nudity.

I wake up at my usual time; everything is as it’s supposed to be, except for this pain.  A dull, aching tooth.  I manage to get through my morning routine without a single problem, until breakfast.  House is on the sofa with a bowl of cereal.  He’s also still in his pajamas, which means his leg hurts a lot more than usual.  He’s going to need a ride.  So much for stopping at the dentist before work, I thought.   “Hey Wilson,” he coos.  “Where’s your cup of sugar and the 3 drops of coffee you have with it?”
XX
House did need a ride.  I have a thousand things to deal with before lunch—which I don’t even have time for until 2:30—but I finally get to Dr. Rice’s office.    “Well I don’t see any cavities.  You could stand to floss a bit more, and as always I’d recommend you eat less sugar but otherwise your teeth are perfect.”   Not good news. I race back to work and immediately start searching for House.  “I’ve got a toothache,” I exclaim.   “There’s a shocker.”   “It’s not a cavity.  I went to the dentist."  Greg’s face turns ashen and he sighs.
XX
“It’s probably nothing,” I complain as House takes me to an exam room for an exam and to run tests on my heart.  We both know what a non-dental related toothache means.  Referred pain.  One part of your body hurts but the injury or ailment is someplace else.  Unfortunately, there aren’t a lot of things that can cause a toothache.  “Do you really need to…hey that hurt…alright I’m scared, stop making that face.”
“Wilson…” His voice didn’t sound right.  I turned to face him.  “We need to get a specialist in here.  Now.”

A good start! And a nasty cliffhanger. ;)

Scary as hell. I'll be thankful for every single cavity from now on (unfortunately, I tend to have a lot to be thankful about).
And thanks for the information, I evn had to look up referred pain. So looking forward to the next chapters.
