Community Update

The House Community Fest exceeded our wildest hopes. It gave us a whopping 42 new fics, and a whole lot of fun!  In case you missed anything, or in case you have a hankering to go back and read some again, we've compiled them all here for you.  Thanks to everyone who participated, and thanks also to everyone who worked so hard to make the Fest a success: geekygecko, hughville, menolly_au, moose_mcmoose, petitecuriosity and sassyjumper.

I just linked this community on Tumblr and I'm wondering if there's anything we can do to celebrate 2016, have a little fun, and remind fandom that we are here and, like Wilson himself, still very much alive.

I loved our comment-fic thing and would do another one with great joy.

We've advertised events on tumblr but gotten no nibbles. Perhaps you'll have better luck.

I like the idea of celebrating the new year. Did you have something in mind?

Yeah, I know, but I am thinking we'll do something fun for ourselves and if we can get folks from Tumblr, great, but if not, we will still be having a good time.

Do we follow each other over there? Most everyone seems to have a different handle and I can't keep track.

I don't have a tumblr, so no. :)

I've visited yours, but that's about the limit of my familiarity with the platform.

I'll speak with my fellow mods and see if we're up for another event. it's a good idea, as you say, regardless of whether anyone else shows up.

Ah, that would explain why I haven't seen you there. :-D

I haven't done fandom community things (other than as a participant in comments) for so long that I'm not sure to what degree I should instigate things on my own.

I was just thinking of, like, doing a single "Send Wilson on a Very Fun New Year's Road Trip; What Could Possibly Go Wrong?" post, or something. For impromptu comment fic. Not necessarily a whole Big Community Event.

One thing was more or less what we had in mind too. But go right ahead if you want to. I know I'd come by to play!

Maybe we could do a prompt challenge where we provide a few prompts loosely related to the New Year: You can't go wrong with a variant of Drunk!Wilson, for example. Or Wilson could resolve to crash-diet after House's body snark hurts his feelings. *sniff*

Then other folks could chime in with their own prompts in the comments, if they'd like.
