but, when yall write fics, do you research the illness or condition?
if so, where do you find your information?

edit: ive tried the medical info link. for some reason it does not work for me... i was hoping to get some sites that i could copy paste.... because nothing i do will make the link work...

Could you please be a bit more specific as to how the link didn't work for you? Did you get some kind of error message, or did the page just not load for you?

I just tested the link in the sidebar, and double-checked the code, and it seems to be working fine, for me anyway. :)

it's like i never clicked it
though.. after trying a few other links i think its my university's web blocker thingy

sometimes when they are in the process of adding new sites its gets REALLLLLYYY uptight for a few days...

hopefully it will be back to normal sometime soon

The link is working for me too. I checked 6 of the site links and they are fine.

FYI: when I plan on a story, I usually have a general idea for an illness/injury. Lately, I just google the term and poke around. I've even found "mystery" illnesses that way. I stay open to changing the diagnosis as I look around too. Caveat: Searching this way is not a quick process, so allow yourself a lot of time.

I hope this means we can expect you to post a new story to sick_wilson in the near future? *puppy dog eyes*

As a side-note, I personally like cdc.gov. It's not detailed enough to write a fic with, but the interface is friendly enough that I'll surf around there to pick out an illness and then use other sites to fully research it.
