Summary: My attempt at a come back in fic writing! Also my attempt at Camp Sick!Wilson's Sekret Word Challenge #3 - Insomnia. Hope I did this right. I also hope you all enjoy my little drabble. Ahhh, short fic, so much easier!



Darkness and light, followed by more darkness and light. Rinse and repeat. Time ceased to matter as colours bled together and then drained from the world. A dawning realization came to Wilson as he watched the sun dawn on the horizon for the third day in a row: Insomnia was a cruel mistress.

He couldn’t figure how House had dealt with it for so long, but the knowledge certainly added a new dimension to the whole Amber hallucinations thing. The muted colours of the new day swirled before him as he wondered if maybe he might see Amber again too.

Ooh, I like this! Really gives a feeling for how "out of it" you feel after several days/nights with insufficient sleep, especially with Wilson reaching the point of wondering/hoping about seeing Amber.

If he does, he's in trouble.

I was really happy to see the sekret woid this week as I am no stranger to insomnia. I was also happy to see it the day it was posted! But yeah, this one came to me fairly easily just because it's so clear in my mind how I feel when I haven't slept for awhile.

If he does, he's in trouble.

This actually gives me an idea. Can't guarantee I'll follow through, but an idea none the less! Thank you!

I could really sense the 'not in one world, not in the other' feeling that often comes during a prolonged bout of insomnia. That you captured that in a hundred words is quite impressive. I'm also glad to see you writing again :)

Very nice imagery, a terrible thing to not be able to sleep (or not sleep well), I like his realisation that this is something that House has had to deal with routinely.
