Camp Sick!Wilson 2012 Goodbye Mixer
Well Campers, here we are again, the last day of camp. It's always a bittersweet occasion, particularly this one, since it marks the series' end.
How can anyone not get emotional? Saying goodbye to new and old friends, regretting our decision to scarf up a strawberry shortcake instead of joining in an impromptu game of pin the tail on the donkey--only to find out later the donkey was code for our favorite oncologist, and the tail... I'll leave it to your imagination. *shakes head* Darn it, can't do it all.
So while we wait around for the buses, help yourselves to the brunch buffet in the mess tent, take advantage of the great company, chat and hug it out!
As an icebreaker, here's a template for you to use. Please tailor it to your tastes, or whatever you feel comfortable with.

Personally, I'd like to take a moment to thank the awesome counselors and my fellow mods for the time and energy they lavished on Camp. You guys rock!
ETA: Just received word from House. Wilson's surgery was successful. Everything remains intact and should be in working order after a six week recovery period.

Favorite House pairing: House and Wilson, of course!
Favorite House episode: Can't pick just one. I really liked The Social Contract. Really can't think of one specific example. Basically, anything before season 4, though House's Head/Wilson's Heart was the highlight of season 4 for me. After season 4 there wasn't much I could come close to considering a favorite.
Favorite House year: Season 3
With the series over, do you intend to hang around and participate in House fandom or are you moving on? Why?: I plan to stick around as long as the comms are active and there are people out there who continue to post and are willing to read what I post. My greatest fear and heartbreak over the end of the series has been watching the communities wither up and die. I love House MD so much that the thought of people abandoning it breaks my heart. In fact, I was at Walmart today and saw a bunch of the early season DVDs of House MD in the discount bin and felt outraged.
Other fandoms? What drew you to them?: I haven't participated in other fandoms. I've begun watching the first season of Sherlock on Netflix and am really enjoying it but I don't know if I'm ready to join any comms or write for it. It feels like adultery to me--cheating on my lover House MD, Lol! Maybe someday I'll lurk any Sherlock communities there might be but not yet.
Other Interests: Not too many, I'm afraid. The ones I do have are kinda dorky, like scrapbooking and Country-style decorating books and magazines. For the past two years my focus has been obsessively on House MD.
It's hard to surpass Camp, but are you doing anything else interesting this summer?: Well, I'm going to Hawaii for the first time in my life. My family will be spending two weeks on Oahu. I'm really looking forward to it since I haven't travelled anywhere farther than 300 kilometres from home in several years and except for the Rocky Mountains, land-locked Alberta, Canada is pretty boring.
Share one habit/quirk/fact about yourself: I like studying up on conspiracy theories--I'm not a conspiracy nut, I just like learning about the theories that are out there and the reason why so many people believe in them. Oh, and I am one half of a set of twins my mother miscarried. My twin was miscarried but they managed to save me. All my life I've felt like something or someone was missing. When my mom admitted to me (I was already an adult) that I'd had a twin that was lost late second trimester, it began to make sense. Weird, huh?
