There was a lot of discussion when the show first ended about what the future held for Wilson and House. Now that we have had time to digest the finale, how do all the sick!Wilson lovers see the future?

Below is a poll with some options.
[Poll #1845294]

Please tell us why you voted for what you did in the comments. And though I am not the badge fairy myself, I am pretty sure participating in the poll (voting and commenting maybe?) will earn you a badge. :)

ETA: We have confirmation on the badges. If you vote AND comment, you do earn a badge. :)

For the past few weeks, your humble mod staff has been busy as little beavers getting ready for our fourth annual Camp Sick!Wilson, and had planned make it the best one ever.

Then Wilson dropped a bombshell at the end of 8x18, and we've had very mixed feelings ever since about what to do.

On the one hand, without knowing how things are going to turn out, we were concerned that camp might seem inappropriate under the circumstances.

And on the other hand, we wondered if it might be just what the doctor ordered, like a form of therapy to help us work through our feelings on whatever happens.

Then we thought, "The whole reason we created the [livejournal.com profile] sick_wilson community was to fulfill a need that we weren't getting on the show at the time:  lots of Sick!Wilsony goodness, with a generous dose of Caring!House.  So since we've ignored canon for five years, why stop now?  If we don't get a happy ending in the series finale, we'll just create our own."

Well, since we ran out of hands, we wanted to get your input.

What are your thoughts about having a Camp Sick!Wilson this year?  Please respond in the poll below, and feel free to post your comments and suggestions.

Howdy Campers!

*sniff* Today is the last day. Hope you all had a good time this summer. I know our favorite oncologist did. He was deliriously happy as the EMT’s carried him out on a stretcher last night… or maybe he was just delirious.

Although our daily activities ended, we still scheduled projects to keep you busy until the buses arrive. To maintain and improve the Camp Sick!Wilson experience we would appreciate it if you would fill out a short survey. To sweeten our request, we're bribing offering a set of sick!Wilson icons as a gift for your participation. (Yes, Dr. House rubbed off on us.)

And just a quick reminder. Don’t forget to check around your cabins for any stray articles, and drop by the Lost & Found before you leave. Among the unclaimed items there is a book about writing fan fiction, a whiteboard with a faint crack running down the middle, a hairbrush, and two flamingo suits.

Thanks everyone for attending Camp Sick!Wilson. We loved everyone’s enthusiasm, whether you were an active participant or just a happy onlooker.

There's still one more day left, and we have a little bit of housekeeping to take care of before you head on out. Despite the grumbling and threats (ha!) coming from our favorite oncologist who is comfortably ensconced in our state-of-the-art infirmary, we are considering doing another session next summer and would a appreciate every member's response to our little survey in order to help us plan for next year.

By the way, please check the Lost and Found before you go. I understand there are several unclaimed items: a pair of size 13 athletic shoes, a sweater vest, an over-sized tennis ball, a bottle of mango scented shampoo, and several cherry suckers.

Big ass poll under the cut... Okaaaay, that didn't come out the way I heard it in my head )

Tomorrow's special events: The final badge ceremony, a closing message by our head mod, [livejournal.com profile] geekygecko, and your last opportunity to get ptomaine poisoning from our breakfast burrito bar.

Looks like something screwy happened to our last poll and the results didn't show up like they were supposed to.  So if you've already voted, we'd really appreciate it if you'd vote again for this brand new poll.  Sorry about that. *blushes furiously*

Okay, once more...with feeling!

When we set up our tagging system back when we started this community, we understood there would be times when knowing the diagnosis in advance for some fics might ruin the surprise.  That's why we created the mystery tag, to keep all of those glorious sick!Wilsony details under wraps when browsing the main pages.

However, the Sick!Fics by Diagnosis threads were specifically set up to help you find stories where Wilson suffers from a particular illness or injury.  And we're concerned that you might be missing a bunch of really cool stories because they're currently listed under "mystery" instead of their real diagnoses.

So we're thinking about changing the way we archive these kinds of fics ON THE DIAGNOSIS THREADS ONLY (here and here), and would like to get your input.

*waves*

The writers of the show finally provided us with some sick!Wilson material! That's great and it means something like a whole new era for this comm since there's now real canon stuff to work with :)

Really lots of sick!Wilson fanfics are stored in this comm and all around the Internet. But one question could arise - which story is the best? Silly, because every one of them is great! Still, wouldn't it be interesting to know which one is most popular among the faithful readers? We think it would!

What about you?

Please express yourself in the poll! Let this be your decision and not our. Don't worry, it's strictly anonymous! The most important thing is we need to know how interested you are in such contest. Also, have you something against it? Would it be better to let the sleeping dogs lie? Are you an author and don't want your fic to be considered? Please comment or PM me.

Thanks for your time! The poll will be open for three days. Then, we will decide about following actions ;-)

When we first started [livejournal.com profile] sick_wilson, we set up a tagging system to help people find fics for a particular illness or injury.

It was a very good idea, but it had a significant limitation: we couldn't tag recced stories that were posted to other communities, authors' personal LJs, etc.  So to make it easier to get your sick!Wilson fix, we decided to create a list that included fics posted to [livejournal.com profile] sick_wilson, as well as recced fics posted elsewhere.  Thus, the first sick!fic thread was born.

Now two years and nearly 600 fics later, less than half of the stories on the sick!fic lists can be accessed by clicking the diagnosis tags in the sidebar, and we're wondering if we're creating unnecessary confusion and frustration by listing the tags on the main pages.

So we'd greatly appreciate it if you'd answer a few questions to help us determine if we need to make any changes.

Hey, look! A poll! )

Now that the birthday festivities are over, and we begin our third year at [livejournal.com profile] sick_wilson, we'd greatly appreciate it if everyone would take a couple of minutes to answer a few questions to help us best meet your sick!Wilsony needs.
